Cowboys Hovland, Wolff top Haskins Award Watch List

It’s a hard thing to separate Oklahoma State teammates Viktor Hovland and Matthew Wolff in terms of accomplishments and skill level. So when the Haskins Award Watch List was revealed March 11, it’s unsurprising that the two are locked atop the list presented by Golfweek.

Hovland, of course, is the top-ranked collegian in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings and has three individual titles. Wolff, meanwhile, has a slightly lower scoring average and four titles.

The two lead a distinguished list of college players as considerations begin for the Haskins Award. The honor is annually given to the player of the year in men’s college golf, as selected by college golfers, coaches and members of the college golf media.



The list also includes Cal senior Collin Morikawa, who was a finalist last year for another prestigious honor, the Ben Hogan award.

The entire list is below and will be updated twice more this spring. The next list, in Mid-April, will include only 15 players and May’s final list will be whittled down to 10:
