Palmetto Am: Hopkins wins title with 65 to close

AIKEN, S.C. (Aug. 12, 2007)-- Clemson rising sophomore Luke Hopkins fired a 5-under-par 65 on the final day of the Palmetto Amateur, held at the Midland Valley Country Club, which was enough to overtake Allen Koon for the victory.

Koon led throughout the tournament after turning in a 63 on the opening day, but let the lead slip away with consecutive 3-over-par 73's.

Jarrod Barsamian took third at even-par 280.
