Santa Barbara City Championship: Verna repeats

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (May 28, 2007)-- Anthony Verna, a UC-Santa Barbara sophomore ripped off a final-round 63 to hold off John Pate and take home his second straight Santa Barbara City Championship at the Santa Barbara Golf Club.
Verna finished with a three-day total of 12-under-par 198, two strokes off the all-time record set in 1983.
Pate finished second at 202, while third went to high school sophomore Ray Gerow.
