First Round Arnold Palmer Cup Matches Set

JOHNS CREEK, GA (June 8, 2017) - First round foursomes pairings for the 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup at Atlanta Athletic Club were announced at today’s opening ceremony. The first match of the Ryder Cup-style competition between collegiate golfers will tee off at 7:30 am Friday.
The 20th anniversary matches will kick off when Rory Franssen and Stuart Grehan face Team USA’s Sam Burns and Chandler Phillips. The second match will feature Norway’s Viktor Hovland and Kristoffer Ventura against John Coultas and Jimmy Stanger. England’s Harry Ellis and Harry Hall will face Nick Hardy and Norman Xiong in match No. 3. The fourth match will pitt Fredrik Nilehn and Hannes Ronneblad from Sweden against Sean Crocker and Doug Ghim. The morning’s final match will see Richard Mansell and David Wicks square off against America’s Maverick McNealy and Collin Morikawa.
Afternoon four-ball matches are scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm with pairings to be determined.
The United States leads the all-time Arnold Palmer Cup series 10-9-1.

ABOUT THE Palmer Cup
The annual Ryder Cup-style competition
features
top men and women collegiate players from the
United States
against their International counterparts.
Each team will be comprised of 12 men's and
12
women's golfers.
Day one will feature Mixed Four-Ball
competition, day
two will see Mixed
Foursomes in the morning and Four-Ball in the
afternoon, with 24 singles
matches on the final day.
