SUGAR GROVE, IL (May 31, 2017) - On Wednesday at Rich Harvest Farms a NCAA champion will be crowned. After surviving the quarterfinals and semifinals on Tuesday the remaining two teams are two-seed Oklahoma and five-seed Oregon.
Oklahoma advanced to the finals with a 3-2 win in the quarters and a 3-1-1 triumph over Illinois in the semifinals. The Sooners are in search of their second national title in program history and first since 1989.
Live Scoring
For defending champion Oregon, who had to fight to get into the quarterfinals on the final day of stroke-play, it was a 3-2 victory over Oklahoma State in the quarters and then a 3-2 win over top-seed Vanderbilt in the semifinals.
With Vanderbilt going down the curse of the top-seed continues. Since match play began no top-seed in either the men's or the women's NCAA Championship has won a national title.
Tuesday Recap
During the championship match the teams will be treated to maybe the best weather in the last two weeks at Rich Harvest Farms. The forecast calls for bright sunny skies with very little wind and temperatures close to 80 degrees.
