Masters Par 3 Contest Cancelled
Hole No. 3 at Augusta National Golf Club
(Golfweek Photo)
AUGUSTA, GA (April 5, 2017) -- With rain and tornado warnings in the area the Masters Par 3 contest has been cancelled. 26 players began the Wednesday tradition before play was officially called for the day just before 1:30 p.m. EST.
Of the 26 players to tee off none of the amateurs were able to reach the first tee so we will have to wait another day to see how the group of five fair this week.
So as the amateurs and the rest of the field sit and await the first round, take a look at when Toto Gana, Curtis Luck, Scott Gregory, Stewart Hagestad and Brad Dalke will begin play Thursday.
ABOUT THE The Masters
One of Golf's four professional majors
traditionally invites amateurs who have reached
the
finals of the US Amateur, or won the British
Amateur
or
the US Mid Amateur. Also included are
the winners of the relatively new Asia Pacific
Amateur
and Latin American Amateur.
