PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL (April 4, 2017) -- The teams battled rain and lightening on Monday but they were able to still able to complete all 36-holes. Unfortunately the same can't be said for Tuesday and with numerous storms in the area the final round of the Web.com Intercollegiate has been cancelled.

As a result 36-hole leader East Tennessee State has won their first tournament of year.

In the medalist race at Marsh Landing Country Club Sasikarn Somboonsup of Texas State has won individual honors.

For more on what happened Monday take a look at the first day recap below.

MONDAY RECAP

Linda Dobele is in third and Hee Ying Loy is in fourth and as a result East Tennessee State is leading the way at the Web.com Intercollegiate. After a day that included rain and a number of lightening delays the Buccaneers are currently 22-over and they will carry a four-stroke lead into Tuesday's final round at Marsh Landing Country Club as they look for their first win of the season.

Dobele moved into third with rounds of 72-73 on the 36-hole first day to post a 1-over tally. For Loy it was rounds of 71-75 on Monday that left her 2-over.

When Tuesday rolls around the Buccaneers will be looking to hold off second place Cincinnati (+26), third place Florida International (+32), fourth place Jacksonville (+34) and four other teams tied for fifth at 37-over.

Currently the medalist lead belongs to Sasikarn Somboonsup of Texas State. Somboonsup sits at 4-under and she is the only player under-par.

Ahead by four shots, Somboonsup did most of her work during her first round 4-under 68 as she carded six birdies and only two bogeys.

Somboonsup second round was a bit more of an adventure and in fact she is fortunate to still have a comfortable lead. Teeing of on No. 4 Somboonsup birdied her first three holes and seven overall during the round but she also carded two double-bogeys and three bogeys during her even-par 72 round.
