SANTA CRUZ, CA (March 22, 2017) -- On Sunday Sabrina Iqbal won her second straight
San Francisco Women’s City Championship and then on Monday she qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball.
Playing with partner Simar Singh at Pasatiempo Golf Club the two combined to shoot a 1-under 71 and share medalist honors with two other teams.
Iqbal and Singh birdied three-times on the front nine to turn in 3-under 33 and in a good position to qualify. However, on the back nine the duo had to do everything in their power to just hold on.
The backwards slide began with bogeys on the 10th and 11th but a birdie on the 12th proved to be the moment that would punch their ticket to The Dunes Golf & Beach Club in May.
Iqbal and Singh would give one more shot back on the way to the house but it proved not to be costly.
Also qualifying out of Pasatiempo Golf Club are the teams of Debbie Adams and Sherry Herman; Sofia Chabon and Mikhaela Fortuna. Both teams shot 1-under 71's as well.
The alternates following 2-over 73's are Lila Barton and Marissa Mar; Neeve Chen and Sienna Lyford.
