LONG BEACH, CA (February 28, 2017) -- With the help of medalist winner Brian Humphreys Boise State captured the 21st playing of the Del Walker Intercollegiate.
Playing at Virginia Country Club, Humphreys was the only player to finish the 54-hole tournament under-par. 1-under for the tournament, Humphreys bogeyed the final two holes but his 12th and 16th hole birdies helped push him over the top.
Overall on Tuesday Humphreys tallied three bogeys and two birdies in the final round.
Boise State took home the team title with a 15-over finish that put them four in front of runner-up Cal Poly (+19). Pacific (+25) ended up third, CSU - Northridge (+30) was fourth while Long Beach State (+35); UC Santa Barbara (+35) shared fifth.
This week Boise State also received a big lift from Mason Schulze who was part of a tie for second place at even-par. Shculze was one of three players to share second place one off of Humphreys winning tally.
