AUSTIN, Texas (March 4, 2007)-- The team of John Aguillon and Ed Martinez opened the first day at the Lakeway Invitational at The Hills Country club by firing a 66 and staking themselves to an early lead at par-72 course.
Their second-day score was seven strokes higher, allowing the team of Eddie Podzemny and Charles Young to sneak into the lead until Aguillon and Martinez stormed back on Day 3 with a 71 for a total of 210. Podzemny and Young faltered in the finale, shooting a 76, falling by four strokes.
In third place was Chris Brauner and Trey Owen, who finished 70-76-73--219, followed by Marc Watson and Don Williams (74-74-73--221).
In the net division, Bill Strong and David New's 58-59-64--181 was six strokes better than their nearest competitor.
