LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Three members of the field in the AJGA Senior Showcase sit atop the leaderboard after the first round on Angel Park Golf Club’s Mountain Course. Campbell Wolf, Shuhei Takahashi and Sun-Yi Lu carded matching 3-under-par 68s to lead the all-boys field.

The first round of the tournament coincided with the 20016 Golf Coaches Association of America’s National Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Wolf, a Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, native, birdied three holes in a four-hole stretch on the front nine to kick start his round. Wolf, a senior at Cumberland Valley High School, finished with a 33 on the front nine to tie for the lowest score on the front nine on the day.

Lu, originally from New Taipei City, Taiwan, equaled Wolf’s front-nine total with a 33 of his own. Lu is competing in his first AJGA event and notched a bogey-free back nine to open his AJGA career after starting on hole No. 10.

Takahashi of Bradenton, Florida, tallied six birdies of his own, including three in a five-hole stretch on the back nine. Takahashi is competing in his sixth AJGA tournament of the year after tallying top-10 finishes at the Jim Bell Memorial Junior presented by PerryGolf and the Davis Love III Junior Open.

Cole Yoshida of Redondo Beach, California, earned solo fourth place after the first round with a 2-under-par 69. Tyler Svendson of Phoenix, and Kobdech Rodrat of Bangkok, Thailand, rounded out the top five with dual 1-under-par 70s.
