(December 5, 2016) -- Talk about making a statement, on Sunday at the AGC Christmas Classic high school senior and St. Mary's commit Ashkaan Hakim came from one-stroke back to win his first career amateur event.

The final stage of LPGA Qualifying School was held over the weekend and some of the best players in the women's college game have left for the professional ranks. How will their teams fare in the spring without them? I guess only time will tell.

Down under we had yet another superb performance from an Australian amateur. This time it was Brett Coletta finishing in a tie for sixth at the Australian PGA Championship.

In one of the more unique events and enjoyable events of the year, the Straight Down Fall Classic, PGA Tour winner Bryce Molder and amateur Jim Stickland teamed for the title.
