Scott Harvey, Todd Mitchell among latest U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Qualifiers
(November 30, 2016) -- U.S. Amateur Four-Ball
qualifying has continued to roll on and 11 more teams
from five different sites have punched their ticket to the
third playing of the event at Pinehurst No.
2 from May 27-31.
Among the nearly half dozen qualifying teams since
we last updated you at the end of
October is the duo of Scott Harvey and Todd Mitchell. Their 2017 appearance
will be the third time that the pairing has competed in
the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball. In 2015 they reached the
semifinals before falling last year in the Round of 16 as
the second-seed.
Harvey (Greensboro, NC) and Mitchell
(Bloomington, IL) fired a 6-under 66 and then
had to survive a one hole playoff to advance. The
pairing rebounded from a first hole at The National Golf
Club in Mission Hills, KS with seven birdies throughout
the rest of the day. After turning at 1-under 35 the two
caught fire with five birdies from Nos. 11-16.
