HONG KONG, China (November 11, 2016) -- It wasn't easy but American born Doug Williams defended his Hong Kong Seniors Open Amateur crown and won a major local senior title once more. Williams combined rounds of 74-72-77 at Hong Kong Golf Club to finish at 223 and one-stroke in front of Joseph Pethes (76-78-70--224).

Williams, the 1982 Spanish Amateur winner, trailed after the first round before taking a two-stroke lead into the final round.

"I’m delighted to win after such a tough day out there,” said Williams to the HKGA, “it’s always a struggle and somehow - I don’t know how I did it - but I managed to do it."

Tomas Manotoc (76-74-75--225) was third, Andrew Atkinson (73-75-78--226) was fourth while Isamu Takemoto (79-75-77--231) and John Ball (76-76-79--231) were fifth.
