FORT WORTH, Texas – United Sports Technologies® (UST), Golf’s leading innovator of high-performance golf shafts, and a sponsor of amateurgolf.com, announces that Davis Love III has joined the UST Tour Staff, and is now playing Proforce V2 graphite shafts in all of his woods and hybrid clubs.

Love III has racked up 19 career PGA Tour victories, including multiple wins at prestigious events like The Players Championship, AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and the Verizon Heritage. He also won the 1997 PGA Championship, and is firmly established as one of the all-time money leaders on the PGA Tour.

“We’re very excited about Davis Love III joining our staff and playing V2 graphite shafts,” says Gene Simpson, vice president of marketing for UST brands. ““The V2’s characteristics and low-torque design delivers a stable and consistent performance that pros demand, and it is specially optimized for today’s 400cc to 460cc clubheads.”

According to Simpson, today’s larger driver heads increase hit-ability for many golfers, however, the larger heads also possess centers of gravity (CG) which have been repositioned further away from the shaft’s center line which results in more stress and twisting on the shaft. The V2’s low torque design provides the power and control needed for 400cc to 460cc heads, prevents clubheads from twisting open on impact, and limits the amount of back spin imparted onto the ball, thus transferring more energy at impact with superior control.

The Proforce V2 — a 15-time winner on worldwide tours since its introduction — utilizes a proprietary graphite fiber orientation to enable the shaft to recover consistently when loaded or flexed and to give the shaft an incredibly stable feel in the golfer’s hands. Combining fiber orientation with lower torque engineering and enhanced flexibility, the V2 provides unparalleled stability and consistency, and balances the tip section to achieve a medium ball flight with increased ball speed, while the optimized torque reduces spin for superior control.

“UST’s high-performance graphite shafts are extremely popular on pro tours worldwide, and we continue to lead the industry in innovative graphite shaft technology,” adds Simpson. “The advanced engineering in UST shafts continues to provide pro players at the top level of the game, like Davis Love III, the consistency and accuracy they need to win.”
