Harder Hall Invitational: Leah Wigger widens lead with 67
Leads Harder Hall after three rounds
SEBRING, Florida (January 6, 2007) -- Leah Wigger finished her round with a five under par 67 which tied the course record set by Beth Bauer in 1999. However Arizona University’s Alison Walshe had finished earlier and set a new course record at 66. With 5 birdies and an eagle, Walshe jumped into fifth place in the tournament but ten strokes back of the leader.
Wigger extended her lead from two strokes to five strokes. She began with three birdies and a bogey on her first nine. Her strength this week seems to follow a misstep of a bogey with a birdie which she did twice today. She birdied the final three holes to finish with a three under par to solidify her hold on first place.
Southeastern Conference rivals Jacqui Concolino of Vanderbilt and Candace Schepperle of Auburn both shot under par but could not make up any ground on the leader Wigger. Junior golfer Sally Watson from Scotland shot even par to make the final pairing.
