(October 3, 2016) -- For the first time in state history Michigan captured the USGA State Team Championship after being led by a torrid Tom Werkmeister.

In the college realm Illinois moved to top spot in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll as the second poll of the season was released.

History was made by Nasa Hataoka on the Japan LPGA Tour as she became the first amateur and youngest player to win a major event.

At the Senior Azalea Roy Hunter captured the crown while at the Trans-Mississippi Four-Ball Blake Vinson and Beau Davis took home the title.
