Best of the Weekend: Team Austalia wins the World Team Amateur Championship and more

(September 26, 2016) -- The biggest win of the weekend went to Team Australia at the World Amateur Team Championship. The Aussies won the title by a remarkable 19-strokes.

Jeff Knox also picked up a big win at the Crump Cup as he won all four of his matches by a 1 up tally.

In Texas it was a six-stroke rally for Josh Irving as he came back to win the Texas Mid- Amateur while in North Carolina Greg Earnhardt repeated as the mid-amateur champion.


-At the Maui Jim Intercollegiate No. 7 LSU won in runaway fashion
-San Diego State earned the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate on Saturday


-Clay Guerin went wire-to-wire at the Alabama Mid-Amateur
-In the Empire State Jim Scorse won the New York State Mid-Amateur on his home course
-At the New Mexico West Texas Mid-Amateur it was Greg Condon capturing the title
-On the final day of the Maine Mid-Amateur Matt Greenleaf came from behind to win
-It took a playoff but Bob Cooper and Stan Humphries were able to win the Louisiana Senior Four-Ball
-Matt Giovannelli was able to shake free of a crowded leaderboard and win the Bo Williams City of Ocala Amateur Championship
-After a long rain delay Kai Niemi took home the Palm Beach Senior Amateur in a playoff
