PINE VALLEY, NJ (September 24, 2016) -- Two-time champion and recent U.S. Mid-Amateur co-medalist Michael Muehr will take on Jeff Knox in the Sunday morning semifinal round of the 92nd George Arthur Crump Memorial Tournament at Pine Valley Golf Club. The second semifinal will feature Jeff Osberg and John Sawin.

Muehr, this week's medalist, won his first match 2&1 over Skip Bermeyer before surviving 1 up in the quarterfinals against Matthew Swan. For Knox, famously known as the Masters spotter, it was a pair of 1 up victories over Andrew Price and Danny Simmerman that propelled him through to the final four.

Jeff Osberg reached semifinal number two by the way of wins over 2014 U.S. Mid-Amateur runner-up Brad Nurski 2&1 and Andrew Cutrell in the quarterfinals 3&2. In previous Crump Cup appearances, Osberg had never been past the Round of 16.

His opponent, John Sawin, a three-time San Francisco Golf Club and five-time Merion Golf Club champion, advanced following a 3&2 win over Justin Tereshko and a 1 up triumph against Matthew Mattare.

In the Senior Championship, eighth-seed Alan Fadel defeated senior medalist Pat Tallent and will face Tommy Brennan, who defeated Chip Lutz 4&3, in Sunday morning’s semifinal match. Fadel finished as the 2014 U.S. Senior Amateur medalist.

The second semifinal will feature Jim Lehman and John Pate. Lehman advanced with a 5&4 tally over David Nelson while it was Pate moving on thanks to a 1 up win over Keith Decker.

The public is invited to view the championship match Sunday afternoon. Parking and shuttle service will be available at the Clementon Lake Amusement Park (144 Berlin Road, Clementon, NJ 08021). Signs will be posted to direct you to the designated parking area.
