Paul Pratico prevails at New York State Senior Amateur

CLARENCE, NY (September 22, 2016) -- With rounds of 72-72-77 Paul Pratico has finished 5-over and atop the New York State Senior Amateur leaderboard at Brookfield Country Club.
Pratico shot back-to-back even-par rounds and then he was able to hang on during a difficult last day. During the first round Pratico birdied three and bogeyed three while his second round produced two birdies and two bogeys.
On the final day Pratico was unable to find a birdie as he bogeyed five holes. However, by closing with four straight pars Pratico was able to finish three-strokes clear of the field.
Stewart McGough and Stu Harris finished tied for second at 8-over, Don Enga was 9-over in fourth while Bob Chalanick placed fifth at 10-over.
In the Super Senior Division it Jim Smith hanging on to win by a stroke. Smith, who was able to overcome a late double-bogey on the par-4 14th, finished 4-over thanks to rounds of 73-74-73.
Finishing one-stroke behind in second was Dana Consler at 5-over and in third it was Fred Silver at 6-over.
