Best of the Weekend: Harrison Endycott won the Porter Cup and more

(August 1, 2016) -- It was a busy weekend in the world of amateur golf with five Majors of Amateur Golf being contested.
Harrison Endycott picked up the biggest win of the weekend as he came from behind at the Porter Cup. Endycott became the third Australian to hoist the trophy.
Will Zalatoris continued his stellar play with yet another Major of Amateur Golf title. Just weeks after winning the Trans-Mississippi Amateur, Zalatoris won the Pacific Coast Amateur.
In Louisiana at the W.E. Cotton States Garrett May of Baylor outlasted Big 12 rival, Oklahoma's Blaine Hale in an entertaining championship match.
Up in New England at the Ouimet Memorial Matt Naumec won the tournament run by the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Foundation one year after squandering a 36-hole lead.
In one of the biggest team events of the year Team Kansas won the Midwest Cup.
Over the weekend the Women's British Open was contested and three amateurs made the cut. The Smyth Salver winner was Leona Maguire who finished 4-under and tied for 25th.
INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The biggest international win of the week was Dan Brown at the English Amateur.
At the Scottish Amateur it was George Duncan outlasting the field while Zach Galliford took the Welsh Amateur.
WOMEN CHAMPIONSHIPS
Hye-Jin Choi continues to make a name for herself, her latest win came at the Canadian Amateur.
Playing in her first California Women’s Amateur Sabrina Iqbal was the winner while Grace Choi captured the Texas Women’s Amateur.
JUNIOR TITLES
Rain was a problem throughout the week but Logan Pate didn't let it faze him as he won the Texas State Junior Championship .
COMING UP THIS WEEK
Another big week awaits us as August begins. The week kicks off with the U.S. Women’s Amateur at Rolling Green Golf Club.
Also coming up this week is the top-flighted field at the Western Amateur.
