MENASHA, WI (July 21, 2016) -- Former Marquette golfer Nick Nelson shot a final round 69 to win Wisconsin State Amateur at North Shore Golf Club Thursday.

Nelson's two birdie and one bogey effort was good enough to overcome third-round leader Thomas Longbella who struggled to a final-round 73 (3-over). Nelson finished the tournament with a 4-under total while Longbella finished at 1-under.

Charles Maleki finished in solo third at even-par for the tournament.
