(July 11, 2016) -- Joey Lane has had quite the two week stretch. First he won the 103rd Virginia Amateur and now he has captured the Eastern Amateur, a Major of Amateur Golf, title as well.

Alex Springer was also more than impressive as he hoisted the Magnolia Amateur trophy following a wire-to-wire run.

It was a tough week for the amateurs at the U.S. Women's Open as only three of the 26 in the field made the cut. Hye-Jin Choi finished as the low amateur while Hannah O'Sullivan and Albane Valenzuela also made it through to the weekend.

FLORIDA CHAMPIONS

University of Central Florida's Kaeli Jones was all smiles after she won the Florida Women’s Stroke Play for her first FSGA crown. In men's play Christopher Carlin and Nicolas Cavero teamed to win the Florida Four-Ball title.

A pair of junior golfers won titles as well with as Linus Samuelsson won the 16-18 Division and Fred Biondi captured the 13-15 Division of the Florida Boys Junior championships.
