MANCHESTER, NH (July 7, 2016) -- It was all Bryan Smith this week at the Vermont Amateur as he won by an impressive eight-strokes. Smith finished the four rounds at Ekwanok Country Club at 1-over.

In the final round, contested on Thursday afternoon, Smith shot a conservative 2-over 72. Carrying a comfortable lead into the round Smith knew all he needed to do was play smart golf and that is just what he did. Smith's final round included three birdies and five bogeys.

Defending champion Alex Rainville finished a distant second at 9-over while Eric Lajeunesse was 11-over and in third place.
