St. Augustine Amateur: Uihlein Leads by 2

ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (Oct 21, 2006) -- Peter Uihlein, of Bradenton,
FL fired his second-straight round of 3-under-par 67. His consistency has been
rewarded with a 2-stroke cushion in the St. Augustine Amateur heading into
Sunday's final round.
Brad Valois, a sophomore at Johnson & Wales University, was
tied with Uihlein after the first round and again played well on Saturday with
a 69 while Dustin Funari of Homestead, Florida posted a 4-under-par 66 to move
into a tie for second with Valois.
About the leaders:
Peter Uihlein is currently ranked No. 3 junior player in the country by Golfweek. In 2005 he won the AJGA's Rolex Junior Player of The Year Award. Uihlein attends the IMG Academy in Bradenton.
Brad
Valois had a top ten finish in the Northeast
Amateur this year and is currently the reigning New England and Rhode Island
State Amateur Champion. He is a sophomore at Johnson & Wales University.
Dustin Funari is a sophomore at Tampa's Flagler college, where
he plays for the golf team.

54 hole stroke play event for better
amateurs
and collegiate players. The field will be
limited
to 84 players, with no cut. The tournament
is
open to Amateurs only whose entry has been
accepted by the Tournament Committee
however there is an open qualifier several
weeks prior to the event - contact the
Tournament Committee or visit the website
for
details.
Unless prior arrangements are made with
the
approval of the Committee, competitors
must
walk during the competition.
