RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. (March 22, 2016) -- USC will take on Arizona in the championship match of the SDSU March Mayhem hosted by The Farms Golf Club.

Sixteen women's collegiate golf programs took part in this year's march-madness themed matchplay event hosted by San Diego State. Number one seed USC advanced to the final after taking out UC Irvine, Oregon, and most recently, the Stanford Cardinals.

In a rematch of last year’s NCAA Championships semifinals, in which eventual national title winner Stanford defeated the Trojans, USC got a small measure of revenge with a decisive win. Karen Chung defeated Cardinal rival – and friend – Casey Danielson 6&5, winning holes 5, 6 and 8 to go ahead 4up, taking 11 for a five-hole head and clinching it with a birdie on 13.

Robynn Ree took down Stanford’s Mariah Stackhouse, 4&3, never trailing in the match. She won holes 2, 3 and 4 to quickly race to a three-hole lead. She took her second four-hole lead on 8 and never let Stackhouse get closer, eventually slamming the door shut after halving 15.

A day after USC needed a dramatic two-putt from 70 yards from Victoria Morgan to defeat Oregon, it was Lee who had to come from behind to defeat the Cardinal’s Quirine Eijkenboom, 1up. Lee trailed by a hole after 15, but evened the match on 16, halved 17 and birdied 18 for the win.

USC would win the match 4-1 while Arizona won in comeback style against UCLA. The Wildcats and Bruins tied 2.5-2.5, but the Cats took the win in the tiebreak by winning more holes, 6-3. The championship match will begin 8:45 a.m local time.
