South Carolina Players Fourball: Felder & Hart Go Wire to Wire

More great weather was in store for the field of the 22nd Annual SCGA Players Four Ball at Columbia Country Club in Blythewood, SC on Sunday, September 24, 2006. The first day leading duo, Columbia’s Daniel Felder and Blythewood’s Luke Hart, both members of Columbia C.C., had a second day total of 66 for a tournament low score of 15 under par 129. Following a first round performance including nine birdies, the pair combined for six more on Sunday to secure the title and win wire to wire.

Finishing second in the Championship Flight was the team of Kevin King of Bluffton and Todd White of Moore both shot a final round of 65 that included five birdies and an eagle on the par five, 542 yard15th. Columbia C.C. member, Eddie Hargett of Blythewood and Sammy Truett of Surfside Beach also combined for a round of 65, posting seven birdies on Sunday afternoon.

Columbia Country Club hosted 66 teams on the 6,935 yard course. The Players Four Ball was broken down into three flights for the final round Sunday, September 24. Winning the First Flight with a two day total of five under par 137 was the duo of Columbia’s Marc Hanson and Blythewood’s Brian Lee. Taking honors in the Second Flight was Jim Kirkham of Columbia and Irmo’s Steve Liebler posting a two day total of three under par 139.

The 22nd Annual SCGA Players Four Ball Championship was played on the par 72, Columbia Country Club in Blythewood, S.C. The field consisted of 66 two-man teams playing Best Ball format conducted over thirty six holes. The Players Four Ball Championship is one of 17 Major Championships conducted annually by the South Carolina Golf Association.

One of the most popular events that the SCGA conducts is the Players Four Ball Championship historically competed at Columbia Country Club. Played over a weekend in September, this event has become a favorite event for the players.
