Florida Fort Myers Winter Series: All leaders break par at River Hall

ALVA, Florida (Dec. 7, 2015) -- Baldonick Fernandez of Pembroke Pines posted a round of 2-under 70 to take the first round lead in the 40-54 division of the Florida Winter Series Fort Myers Individual event at River Hall Country Club.

Fernandez, 53, is a Latin America Software Developer at SAP and a member of Lago Mar Country Club.

Jerome Brown of Bradenton is a stroke back at 70.

In the 55-64 age bracket, of Cory Walker of Ormond Beach posted even-par 72 and stands a shot in front of Rokki Roman from Fort Myers. Rogan plays out of nearby Cypress Lake.

Kim Schwenke of Tampa -- a longtime AmateurGolf.com member -- posted 2-under 70 to pace the 65 and over flight. Thomas Jung of Fort Myers is a stroke back.

ABOUT THE Florida Winter Series at Ft. Meyers

The Florida Winter Series is for players 40 years and older, and runs from late November through early March. There are seven events scheduled for the 2015- 2016 season: six individual events and one four-ball event *Gross scoring only**.

Entries are open to male amateur golfers who are age 40 or older as of March 1, 2016. A Regular or Foundation Florida State Golf Association membership level is required.

The field is broken down into three divisions by age. Mid Senior (40-54); Senior (55-64); and Super Senior (65 & over)
