BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — While Canada squeaked ahead on day three to recapture the team title, Matias Simaski of Argentina went wire-to-wire to represent the host nation at the 20th annual Tailhade Cup.

Eric Banks and Tony Gil led the Canadian squad to a repeat performance, with Gil shooting 70 on day three to aid a come-from-behind victory. Australia, Brazil, and Argentina all shared the 36-hole lead while Canada trailed by three. But rounds of 70 and 75 to total 145 was four better than all the teams Canada trailed by three heading into the last day.

Banks, at 1-over par 214, tied for second place individually while Gil jumped inside the top-15 with his stellar final round.

Simaski led from start to finish to pace the Argentinians, but it wasn't enough to get his country the victory. Opening with rounds of 69-68, Simaski posted 75 on the final day while his teammate Matias Lezcano shot 77. The team finished in fourth place, four back of the winner, while Simaski captured the individual crown by two over Banks and Khaled Attieh of Saudi Arabia.
