Links at Petco turned into a home run for Callaway and Padres

San Diego is the ideal spot for golf, and it turns out the Petco Park is an ideal spot for a nine-hole golf course.

Over 1,600 golfers were treated to a truly unique experience as Callaway Golf and the San Diego Padres teamed to create this much talked about event.

Of the 1,600 golfers, there were only four players who carded an ace. Odds of an amateur golfer making a hole-in-one are 12,500 to 1, so Callaway sweetened the pot by giving players an incentive. Make an ace, win a new Great Big Bertha driver. Brandon Fishman (on the 7th hole), Jason Hoffman (7th hole), Blaine Smith (5th hole) and Tim Scott (3rd hole) all walked away with new drivers.

Two players ended up in a tie at 5-under par 22, Bob Hauseur and JJ Cavellier.

Longtime ESPN personality Kenny Mayne was in town for the Monday Night Football matchup between the visiting Chicago Bears and the hometown Chargers, but took the time to experience the Links for himself.

It looks as if he had as much fun as everyone else.
