MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Former Mini Tour player Anthony Baker will look to go wire-to-wire on Friday at the World Amateur, as the top-three and ties will play for the championship.

Baker led by two after the first round with 70, but that lead was cut in half during Wednesday's second round after he posted 74. In round three, Baker shot 73 and extended his lead to four. On Friday, Baker will play 18 more holes while facing off with second-place holder Ryan Reynolds, as well as Eric King and Matt Corbitt who are tied for third. Reynolds will have four shots of ground to make up while King and Corbitt will have five.
Stephen Amerson of Georgia

Stephen Amerson of Georgia finished off his final round with a "walk-off" ace. The shotgun start left Amerson finishing on the 175-yard, par-3 8th hole, which he dunked his tee shot to break 80 and shoot 79. Amerson's ace jumped him into a tie for 11th place.

The tournament, which hosts around 3,500 golfers each year at more than 40 Myrtle Beach area courses, is in its second year of including a scratch division.
