FAR HILLS, N.J. (Aug. 10, 2015) — Five of the 10
players who will comprise the 2015
United States Walker Cup Team for the 45th
Match against Great Britain and Ireland
have been selected by the United States Golf
Association.
Bryson DeChambeau, 21, of Clovis, Calif.; Beau
Hossler, 20, of Mission Viejo, Calif.;
Lee McCoy, 21, of Athens, Ga.; Maverick
McNealy, 19, of Portola Valley, Calif.; and
Hunter Stewart, 22, of Nicholasville, Ky., will
represent the USA Team captained by
John “Spider” Miller at Royal Lytham & St. Annes
Golf Club in Lancashire, England,
Sept. 12-13.
“The USGA is proud to select these five young
men, all with brimming golf résumés,
to represent the USA at the Walker Cup Match,”
said Diana M. Murphy, USGA vice
president and chairman of the USGA’s
Championship Committee. “They represent all
of the fine qualities that make the Walker Cup
such a traditional and renowned
international amateur golf competition.”
Following are biographies on each of the five
players chosen by the USGA’s
International Team Selection Committee:

DeChambeau was the 2015 NCAA
Division I individual champion, earning
first-team All-America honors as a member of
the Southern Methodist University
team. He is a rising senior at SMU. DeChambeau
qualified for this year’s U.S. Open
at Chambers Bay, where he missed the cut. He
earned sponsor exemptions into two
PGA Tour events this season, the FedEx St. Jude
Classic (tied for 45th) and John
Deere Classic (missed cut). DeChambeau
reached the Round of 16 at the inaugural
2015 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball with partner Austin
Smotherman after finishing fifth in
stroke-play qualifying. He also advanced to the
quarterfinals of the 2014 U.S.
Amateur Public Links Championship and
advanced to match play in his previous four
U.S. Amateurs, including the Round of 16 last
year at Atlanta Athletic Club.
DeChambeau also helped the USA to victory at
the 2014 World Amateur Team
Championship in Japan.

Hossler is a rising junior at the
University of Texas, where he earned first-
team All-America honors and was chosen 2015
Big 12 Conference Player of the Year.
He won a silver medal at last month’s Pan
American Games in the team competition
and was sixth as an individual. On July 31, he
tied for second along with 2015 Walker
Cup teammate Maverick McNealy at the Pacific
Coast Amateur in Eugene, Ore. At 17
years, 3 months old, he became the youngest
player to make the cut at a U.S. Open
since World War II, finishing in a tie for 29th at
The Olympic Club in 2012. Hossler,
who has played in three U.S. Opens and tied for
58th this year at Chambers Bay,
helped the USA win the 2014 World Amateur
Team Championship. He competed in
the PGA Tour’s AT&T National in 2012, where he
tied for 74th. Hossler won the 2014
Western Amateur and is a two-time Southern
California Golf Association Amateur
champion. He also played on the winning 2015
USA Palmer Cup team.

McCoy earned first-team All-America
and first-team All-Southeastern
Conference honors as a junior on the University
of Georgia squad, which advanced to
the final eight in the team match-play
competition at the 2015 NCAA Men’s Division I
Championships. The rising senior has been
named a co-captain for the Bulldogs in
2015-16. McCoy qualified for this year’s U.S.
Open, where he missed the cut, and
also helped the USA to a silver medal at the Pan
American Games and tied for 69th
at the PGA Tour’s John Deere Classic this
summer. A member of the winning 2015
USA Palmer Cup team, McCoy was co-medalist
in the 2014 U.S. Amateur before
losing in the Round of 64. He qualified for match
play at both the 2009 and 2010 U.S.
Junior Amateurs, with his best finish an
appearance in the Round of 32.

McNealy is a rising junior at Stanford
University, where he earned the Jack
Nicklaus Award as Division I’s top college player
and achieved first-team All-America
honors in 2015. He was chosen Pacific 12
Conference Player of the Year and won the
conference title by 10 strokes. On July 31, he
tied for second along with 2015 Walker
Cup teammate Beau Hossler at the Pacific Coast
Amateur in Eugene, Ore. McNealy
advanced to the Round of 16 with partner Viraat
Badhwar at the U.S. Amateur Four-
Ball earlier this year. McNealy qualified for the
2014 U.S. Open, missing the cut at
Pinehurst No. 2. He played in the 2014 U.S.
Amateur, but did not advance to match
play. McNealy competed this year in the PGA
Tour’s Greenbrier Classic (tied for 60th)
and the Barbasol Championship (78th place). He
was a member of the winning 2015
USA Palmer Cup team.

Stewart earned first-team All-America
honors in 2015 and also became the
first player from Vanderbilt University to be
chosen Southeastern Conference Player
of the Year. He captured three individual events
during his senior season with the
Commodores before finishing T-3rd in the
individual competition of the NCAA Division
I Men’s Championship, where the Commodores
advanced to the final eight in the
team match-play competition. He was the co-
winner of the Vanderbilt Male Athlete of
the Year Award in 2015. He won the Northeast
Amateur in June by four strokes with
a 72-hole score of 10-under 266. A semifinalist
for the Ben Hogan Award, Stewart
qualified for the 2014 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No.
2, where he missed the cut. He was
first player to sweep his matches (4-0) in three
years at the 2015 Palmer Cup and
led the USA to victory.
The remaining five players to complete the 2015
United States Walker Cup Team will
be named following the conclusion of the 2015
U.S. Amateur, to be played Aug. 17-
23 at Olympia Fields (Ill.) Country Club.

ABOUT THE The Walker Cup
The Walker Cup Match is a biennial 10-man
amateur
team competition between the USA and a team
composed of players from Great Britain and
Ireland
and selected by The R&A. It is played over two
days
with 18 singles matches and eight foursomes
(alternate-shot) matches.
The first United States Walker Cup Team, which
in
1922 defeated the GB&I side, 8-4, at the
National Golf
Links of America, is considered among the best
teams
ever and included Francis Ouimet, Bob Jones,
Charles
“Chick” Evans and Jess Sweetser. Many of the
game’s
greatest players have taken part in Walker Cup
competition, including U.S. Open champions
Jack
Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth for
the
USA
and Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy and Justin
Rose
for Great Britain and Ireland.
