Iowa Father-Son: McCoys win overall title
GRANGER, IA (August 20, 2006) -- The McCoys overcame a double-bogey on the 17th hole by carding a birdie at 18 to win by one stroke over a trio of teams. The Runner-Up trophies will go to Ron and Bennet Hammerberg of Cedar Rapids, whose back 9 35 won the tie-breaker over Bob and Neil Johnson and Hugh and John German.
On the Jester Park Executive Course in the Junior Division, Mike and Danny McCoy defeated Jon and Justin Brown in the 9-10 Age Division in a playoff after both teams fired 5-over par 59. John and Dylan Storey captured the 8 & under Age Division with a round of 68. Kort and Clayton Freeman finished as Runner-Up.
Greg and Kramer Samuelson fired a 79 in the Young Adult Division to win by 1 stroke over Jay and Drew Slings. The Young Adult Division played on the Regular Course and consists of the teams where the Son is 11-12 years old.

ABOUT THE Iowa Father-Son/Parent-Child
Father-Son:
At least one member of the Father/Son team
must be a resident of Iowa. There are three
separate divisions. The
Open Division, the Young Adult Division (the son is
11 or
12 years old), and the Junior Division (the son is 10
years
of age or younger). The Junior Division is broken
into
two
flights; the 8 & under flight and the 9 & 10 year
olds.
Parent-Child:
Run concurrently
with the IGA Father/Son Championship. Entry is
open to any team comprised of a parent
and child in any age combination excluding male-
male.
Step-parents and grandparents are allowed. A
contestant may
play with more than one family member at the same
time or
may play in multiple sessions to accommodate
multiple team
entries. At least one member of the Parent/Child
team must
be a current resident of Iowa. Same division
breakdown as the Father-Son.
