GOSHEN, Ky. — David Snyder, a senior at the University of Kentucky, handed Davis Boland of Louisville a 1-up defeat on Thursday to claim the 2015 Kentucky Match Play Championship title.

Snyder, of Somerset, Ky., had close victories all throughout his four matches leading to the championship finale, including another 1-up victory over Andy Roberts in Wednesday afternoon's semifinal. Roberts, of Owensboro, beat medalist Cooper Musselman in the quarterfinals 3-and-2.

The runner-up Boland had his own upset win in the quarterfinals, sending defending champion Denver Haddix back to Lexington with a 3-and-2 defeat. Boland then went on to beat former Murray State golfer Hunter York in the semis in a match that went one extra hole.
