SAVANNAH, Ga. — Scores were low — really low — on day one of the Oglethorpe Invitational at Wilmington Island Club.

Travis Williamson of Brunswick, Ga., a former golfer for Armstrong State University, set the pace with an eight-under 63. Though, he has two players hot on his tail after 64s of their own as Dillon Board of Jacksonville and Elki Kow of Indonesia are tied for second place.

Following a shot behind them are Cory Howard and Richard Donegan at 65, as well as three more players at five-under 66.

Overall, 48 players shot even par or better on Thursday at the Donald Ross-designed course, which sits at just over 6,700 yards.
