Peters, Bouguennec win playoffs at Marin County Amateur
SAN GERONIMO, Calif. — Ben Peters of Redwood City fired a final-round 68 at San Geronimo Golf Course on Sunday to force a sudden-death playoff with Larry Salk at the Marin County Amateur Championsihp.

Peters, who shot 74 in the first round and trailed opening-round leader Evan Knight of Novato by three, won in extra holes over Salk, who posted 70 on day two.

Knight, a sophomore at UC Davis, finished with a two-day total of 143 after a 72 on Sunday, which put him a stroke out of the playoff and in a tie for third place with Aggie teammate Matthew Seramin.

It went to playoff in the Senior division, as well. Dale Bouguennec of Pleasant Hill, thanks to a final-round 73, joined Rich Rowley of San Jose and first-round leader Ken Gosselin of Occidental at 148.

Bouguennec was victorious, winning his second AmateurGolf.com affiliated event of the year. In January, Bouguennec won by three at the Wine Country Cup.

Rowley got a chance at the win due to his closing 72, which was the second lowest score in his division on Sunday. Steve Wilson's 71 was an 11-shot difference compared to Saturday and helped him to finish in a tie for sixth just five back of the playoff.
