CHARLESTON, S.C. — Winthrop University junior Christian Sease of Mount Pleasant, S.C. lead during all three rounds at the Charleston City Amateur, winning wire-to-wire at Charleston Municipal Golf Course over Kiawah Island caddie Thomas Ellenburg.
“It feels great. It’s been a long road with some disappointments. I hung in there and worked hard and it paid off,” Sease told Charleston Post and Courier. “I didn’t have a very good junior career, but I grinded it out.”
Sease opened with 68 and shot back-to-back 70s on the weekend while Ellenburg entered the final round just a stroke behind Sease but posted 72 on Sunday.
