Georgia Tech holds slim lead at ACC Championship
NEW LONDON, N.C. — Two Georgia Tech seniors led the Yellow Jackets to a nine-under par total of 279 on day two of the ACC Men's Golf Championship, being held at Old North State Club.
Anders Albertson, of Woodstock, Ga., and Ollie Schniederjans, of Powder Springs, Ga., broke 70 on Saturday as Georgia Tech grabbed the 36-hole lead by a stroke over three other teams. Clemson, Florida State, and Virginia are all just one shot back while Virginia Tech is two shots back.
Schniederjans fired 67 while Albertson posted 69, a day after he opened with 67 to lead the tournament through 18 holes. Albertson sits a stroke behind individual leader Trevor Cone of Virginia Tech, who was one of three players to shoot 66 on Saturday.
First-round leaders Clemson shot five under on day two and were led by a 66 from their senior Billy Kennerly. Miller Capps, who shot 69 on Friday, contributed nicely again with a 71 in round two.
