Utah Senior Open: Blair Repeats
EDEN, UT (August 3, 2006) -- Jimmy Blair shot rounds of 70-68-138 to win his second straight Utah Senior Open title with an eight under par tally. He was the only player to break par either day and the closest score to him was posted by Roy Christensen, eight shots back at two over par 146.
Rob Bachman won the low amateur honors with steady rounds of 74-75-149.
Christensen started the final round just two shots behind Blair and with just six holes to play they were tied, but Blair carved out a birdie, birdie, par finish on the final three holes while Christensen went par, double bogey, bogey to fall out of contention.
Kim Thompson finished third at 150 and Brad Stone finished fourth at 152.
On the amateur side Dave Dorton and Kent Christopher were just one shot behind Bachman.
The tournament was named in honor of Tommy Williams for his long years of service to golf in Utah.

ABOUT THE Utah Senior Open
Field Size: 104 players (64 amateurs and 40
professionals)
Flight Information: Amateur flights will be
determined by age and handicap as follows;
Championship Flight (ages 50-64, with a 9.9 HI or
less), First Flight (ages 50-64, with a 10.0 HI or
higher) Super Senior Flight (65 and over.) A player
over the age of 65 may choose to compete in
the overall championship but will be required to play
in the Championship Flight (including playing
from the same tees) and will forfeit their eligibility in
the super-senior flight.
Eligibility: All UGA members who are 50 years of
age or older as of the first day of competition are
eligible to compete.
Format: 36 holes stroke play. There will be both a
gross and net component within each flight.
