RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. — Byron Busse, a sophomore at Santiago Canyon College, shot 69 on Saturday at the Rancho Santa Margarita Amateur to lead heading into the final round by a stroke over Oliver Rheinfurth and Adrian Young.

Defending champion Gordon Neale shot one-under 71 and is one of five players tied for fourth place.

ABOUT THE Rancho Santa Margarita Amateur

Entry fee includes Saturday lunch, Sunday brunch, range balls, a dozen Pro V1s, and one of the best pay-outs in Southern California's events.

CHAMPIONSHIP: Played at scratch, see entry form for handicap limit.

SENIOR: Scratch competition: 3.0 and below or anyone who would like to compete in the championship 50 years or older.
