Caleb Proveaux
SEA ISLAND, Ga. (Dec. 20, 2014) — Caleb Proveaux, a commit to the University of South Carolina, and Will Chandler, a future Georgia Bulldog, share a slim one-shot lead through two rounds at Sea Island Golf Club, site of the Jones Cup Junior Invitational.
Proveaux, the first-round leader from Lexington, S.C., shot two-over 72 on Saturday while Chandler, from Atlanta, shot one-over 71 after a 66 on Thursday.
Proveaux has an older brother, Cody, who plays for South Carolina's rival school Clemson.
Sitting in a tie for third place, and just one shot back with a 18 holes to go, are Joshua Martin and Davis Shore. Martin, a UNC commit, became the youngest North Carolina Amateur winner this summer. Shore, from Knoxville, Tenn., will play for the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2017.
