Team Austin defeats Team San Antonio at I-35 Rudy's Cup
HORSESHOE BAY, Texas (Nov. 9, 2014) — Entering Sunday's final round, Team Austin had just a one-shot lead over Team San Antonio at the I-35 Rudy's Cup, being played at Horseshoe Bay Resort.
The Ryder Cup-style matches between the two central Texas cities had Four-Ball and Foursome rounds played heading into Sunday's singles matches, where Austin won 9 of the 14 matchups.
Peach and Jay Reynolds won both their matches, including an impressive 7-and-6 win for Jay Reynolds over J.J. Hall.
Another impressive win came from Matt Wernecke, who defeated Danny Lee 5-and-4.
Overall, the final totals were Austin beating San Antonio 17-11.
San Antonio handedly defeated Austin last year by a total of 18.5 to 9.5.

Team matches between best amateur players
from cities of Austin and San Antonio, Texas. The
matches take place over two days, Saturday through
Sunday, a total of 28 matches. On Saturday, there
are seven, four ball matches in the morning (or
afternoon) and seven foursomes matches in the
morning (or afternoon). On Sunday, there are 14
singles matches, when all team members play. The
winning team is determined by cumulative total
points.
