Amateur Jared Wagenaar tied for third at Seaport Open
SAVANNAH, Ga. (Oct. 17, 2014) — Jared Wagenaar, a native of South Africa who played collegiately for Armstrong State University in Savannah, Ga., shot 66-69 in the opening two rounds of the Seaport Open to trail the leader, professional Mark Silvers, by just four strokes.
The 54-hole stroke play event is being held at Crosswinds Golf Club in Savannah.
Wagenaar finished his senior season in 2013 after playing two years at the NCAA Division II school.
Former Murray State golfer Patrick Newcomb is in second place at 10-under, three back of Silvers, while 24-year-old Sam Bedwell of Chattanooga, Tenn. is tied for third with Wagenaar.
