Gauley brothers Brian and Mark shoot 64 on Sunday to win N.C. Four-Ball
RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 5, 2014) — Brian Gauley, 44, and Mark Gauley, 38, of Raleigh fired a final round 64 to win their second North Carolina Four-Ball Championship title with a final three day total of 21-under-par 195.
The brothers won the 2006 championship when it was held at Foxfire Resort in Foxfire Village, N.C.
“We finally played well on the back nine”, Brian Gauley said. “All tournament long we played the front nine great but could not carry it over to the back nine until today.”
Their back nine score of 31 which included two eagles on both par fives set them apart from the field.
Round two leaders Chris Cassetta, Winston-Salem and David Gies, II, Charlotte posted a final round 68 to finish in a tie for second place with Preston Edmondson, Morrisville and Eric Brady, Cary at 197 (-19). Edmondson and Brady carded a 65 to jump up the leaderboard.
