Grant Whybark claims title at Morris Fall Classic
MORRIS, Ill. (Sept. 29, 2014) — Grant Whybark was victorious at the 2014 Morris Country Club Fall Classic, shooting a 36-hole total of 139. A one-under par round of 70 on Saturday led to a Sunday 69, giving him a three-shot win over David Deschler.
Deschler, who shot 67 in the opening round, shot 75 on Sunday to slip out of contention for the title. Deschler did, however, finish runner-up by five shots. John Finnin rebounded from a 78 to shot 69 on Sunday and finish alone in third.
Whybark made national headlines in 2010, when he played for the University of St. Francis, by purposely losing a playoff to allow a his competitor (a friend) to make it to the national finals.
