COHUTTA, Ga. (Sept. 13, 2014) -- Four players — Brent Sizemore of Adairsville, Peter Dash of Marietta, Chris Waters of Atlanta and Jeremy Schmiedeberg of Roswell — posted a 1-under-par 71 to lead the Georgia Public Links Championship after round one. The 26th annual competition is taking place at Nob North Golf Course, September 13-14.

Sizemore, as he plays for his fourth championship victory, is the only player in the history of the Georgia Public Links Championship with three titles (1998, 1999, 2007). Billy Mitchell of Roswell recorded an even-par 72 to sit one stroke behind the leaders, is a two-time winner himself, claiming his Georgia Public Links wins in 2010 and 2011.

William Pentecost IV of Atlanta leads flight one at 1-over-par 73, and Tony Clayton of Tunnell Hill leads the second flight at 11-over-par 83.

Entries were open to male amateur golfers who are bona fide public course players and have not held privileges of any club, which does not extend playing privileges to the general public or privileges of any club maintaining its own course, since January 1, 2014.
