PORTLAND, ME (July 13, 2006) -- Shawn Warren was the only player under par for three rounds at the Portland Country Club, as he finished this week's Maine Amateur Championship with a one-under 209 this afternoon to take home the victor's spoils -- and the crystal cup.

Warren finished six ahead of Gary Manoogian, Toby Spector and Jesse Speirs, who all tied for second at 215. Manoogian had the best round of the day today, finishing with a one-over 71 to tie the two youngsters playing in the second to last group.

Today's final round was delayed for 4 1/2 hours because of heavy rains -- nearly three inches -- that fell overnight. But Portland's grounds crew, headed by JB Chrisiti, did a superb job in getting the course ready for the noon start, and most players finished the day in bright sunshine.
