North & South Junior: Kocher, Dunne win titles
VILLAGE OF PINEHURST, N.C. (July 10, 2014) -- David Kocher shot a final-round 68 to finish a memorable week at Pinehurst, winning the 2014 North & South Junior.
Playing Pinehurst No. 8, Kocher, from Charlotte, shot rounds of 69-74-68 to close out a four-shot victory over Josh Martin of Pinehurst.
Martin held the overnight lead but stumbled to a final-round 73, opening the door for Kocher to make his move.
Daniel Wetterich and Nick Stafford tied for third while Geuntae Kim, Paul Stankey and Jovan Rebula all tied for fifth place.
In the North & South Junior Girls event, Brigitte Dunne topped Sarah Spicer on the second playoff hole to prevail.
Both players finished at 1-under 215 following the 54 holes of regulation, forcing the playoff.

ABOUT THE North & South Junior
Part of the annual North & South series of
tournaments at Pinehurst that include Men's,
Women's, Juniors and Seniors. Entries are open to
male and female golfers who are between the
ages of 15 and 18 (Ages as of tournament start).
Contestants must not have reached their
nineteenth birthday by start of tournament, OR
must not have started college. All applicants must
conform to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status
and meet the requirements of the USGA Gender
Policy.
FORMAT: 54-holes of stroke play will determine
the Champion. Play will be divided into two
divisions: Boys and Girls. A full field will consist of
90 boys and 90 girls.
