Past champs on top at Women's Texas Four-Ball
MONTGOMERY, Tx. (June 30, 2014) -- With 3 birdies on the card, past champions, Anna Schultz and Jewell Malick lead the way at this year’s Four-Ball Championship hosted by Crown Colony Country Club.
Schultz and Malick conquered the sweltering weather and blistering greens to post a 1 under par 71.
The race is tight though with the team of Becky Neal and Leslie Henry in striking distance shooting an even par 72.
The team of Joanna Staton and Crystal Blanks lead the 2nd flight and are also within one shot of leaders Schultz/Malick. Play continues tomorrow with a 9am shotgun start.

ABOUT THE Texas Women's Four-Ball
Eligibility: Entries are open to female amateur
golfers with a certified GHIN Handicap Index.
Player Field: The starting field will consist of 50
teams (100 players). In the event the
championship becomes over-subscribed, acceptance
of entries will be based on the lowest
combined team USGA Handicap Index. Maximum
spread of partners index is 8.0.
Format: 36 holes of Four-Ball Stroke Play. Two
competitors play as partners, each playing her own
ball. The lower score of the partners is the score for
the hole.
