Bowling Green Pickens Amateur: Shirley hangs on to win

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (June 29, 2014) -- Trey Shirley shot 63-69 to win by two shots at the 2014 Pickens Amateur at CrossWinds Golf Course.
Shirley led after Round 1 and held on to top a surging Brandon Beckham on Sunday.
Beckham shot 66-68 to take solo second place.
John Kirby fired rounds of 67-69 to finish third.
Other flight winners included: Chuck Dirrant, James Davis, Tyler Watkins, Matt Logic, Mike Dowell, Bob Crooks, Jeff Gabbard and Kyle Franklin.
ABOUT THE Pickens Amateur
36 hole stroke play event held annually on the last
full
weekend in June. Players will compete in one of 10
flights with 6 places per flight. Limited to 200
players.
Named in honor of Coach Jim
Pickens, a widely respected baseball coach at
Western
Kentucky University.
